CHAS — the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme — is the UK's longest-established SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) assessment body. CHAS Elite is its premium tier: alongside the standard H&S assessment, it adds environmental, quality and financial-standing checks, meeting the Common Assessment Standard that lets a single accreditation satisfy most main contractors and public-sector PQQs.
