Fire Protection Association

The Fire Protection Association (FPA) is the UK's national fire-safety organisation, funded by the insurance industry. It publishes the influential Loss Prevention Council (LPC) Rules for Automatic Sprinkler Installations, the Design Guide for the Fire Protection of Buildings, and the RC (Recommended Code) series of technical guidance — the documents insurers default to when specifying fire protection for higher-risk premises.

What it covers
  • Access to FPA technical guidance and the RC series
  • LPC-rules-aware approach to sprinkler and suppression specification
  • Industry training and CPD
  • Insurer-aligned best-practice guidance

What it means for clients

Why this matters
on a real job.

FPA membership matters for the insurer-driven end of the fire-protection market — sprinkler design, high-value premises and warehouses where the specification is being written by the underwriter rather than the architect.
