Fire Industry Association member

The Fire Industry Association (FIA) is the UK's largest fire-protection trade body, representing manufacturers, installers and service providers across fire detection and alarm, fire suppression, passive fire and emergency lighting. FIA membership is a sign of active participation in the industry's response to standards revisions — BS 5839-1, the Building Safety Act, Awaab's Law and the post-Grenfell golden-thread duties.

What it covers
  • Membership of the industry's main trade body
  • Participation in FIA technical councils (Detection & Alarm, Suppression, Passive Fire, Emergency Lighting)
  • Continuous-professional-development access for engineers
  • Visibility on the FIA-approved company register
What it means for clients

Why this matters
on a real job.

For a buyer due-diligencing a fire-safety contractor, FIA membership signals industry engagement — the firm is in the rooms where the standards are written, not just installing to them.
